I’m adding a beauty category to the blog because I spend a good chunk of my time trying to reverse the aging process and make sure I look halfway decent on camera.
I discovered the most amazing product last week.
Mario Badescu is known to have the “best facial in Manhattan.”
I havent had every facial ever in NYC but i will say the facial i had was amazing. My esthetician, Maria, wasn’t shy about squeezing everythign out of my pores.
But because I have to wear so much makeup day to day, (and because I love to eat rich, fatty foods) I get the occassional breakout.
Well, while I was there, I picked up the MB drying lotion and buffering lotion. Not kidding you, the combo of the two will take care of any breakout you can have.
You know those really deep zits that kind of hurt and when you squeeze em it gets you nowhere? This fixes it. and trust me, I’ve tried everything.
Here’s Designer Yeohlee Teng petting my necklace – she says its a sign of approval. I’ll take it!!
Im not ready to post yet about Pamella Roland’s show which was AWESOME.
I will, however, say Carolina Herrera’s collection was to DIE for. I would wear every single piece of that collection.
Oh and one note. Red is going to be in come fall. Monique Lhuillier, Zang Toi, Pamella Roland all showed bright bright red pieces.
With my boys, designer Marc Bouwer and In Touch Weekly big man Noah Levy
I am having quite a ball, despite the fact that there is just so much to do.
Mixed prints are everywhere, much like they were during the Sept fashion week. I appreciate all those fashionistas who can do it well, because I know its tough!
But I would like to implore some of the burgeoning fashionistas ive been seeing at Fash Wk: If you do NOT know how to do it, please dont. It takes a very specific aesthetic skill and if you dont have it you are hurting all our eyes!!!
Lace is so hot right now. I cant wait to get some lace leggings. I want them in electric blue. If you know of anyone who makes them, please let me know!
Other than that, the collections this season are fun.
Zang Toi’s show closed to a standing ovation. First one i saw of the season. Congrats Zang! Not only is he a great designer but just a wonderful and warm person. Cant wait to see some of the designs on the red carpet.
Not much time to post, but I’ll give you some highlights.
Went to Max Azria’s private dinner last night. Happens every season and never disappoints. Solange Knowles came by and BOY is she gorgeous.
lots of lace. Rebecca Taylor . Monique Lhuillier . Tadashi Shoji all showing tons of lace. lace leggings by RT i just LOVED.
lots of leather.
lots of sheer over solid.
I also cant wait to get me some of those equestrian-inspired boots that they were showing at the Herve show.
Monique’s leather belts with the dip in the front were super flattering for the female figure, so will be buying one of those as well.
this is my 5th? 6th? season doing this, so I have amassed some wisdom I would like to bestow upon the tens of you who care to know
my first 4 truths of Fashion Week
1 – all sodas at fashion week are diet
2 – publicists wear headsets so they can look busy so they dont have to make eye contact with you
3 – sometimes you cant tell the male models apart from the female models
4 – the crazier you dress, the more likely photographers are to run after you outside the tents
The Honor and Tadashi collections were both beautiful – awash with color (brighter during Honor, more subdued for Tadashi)
Next season we will also be seeing lots of
– sheer fabric over solid bright
– long sleeved dresses
– flowy fabrics
Seriously, how adorable is Jason Wu.
I cant even handle it.
I was at dinner with some girlfriends at the fabulous Spasso in West Village last night and we got to talking about the Jason Wu for Target line.
We all agreed that while Missoni was nice, it really wasnt stuff we would wear…
but the Jason Wu line, we all covet everything in that collection.
